Power & Battery

  • How is it powered?
    • It is powered by a simple USB power bank. One is included with the starter kit.
  • Approximate battery life per charge?
    • About 10 hours with the fan set to high.
  • Usable while charging?
    • Yes, simply plug the cord into any nearby USB outlet in a pinch.
  • What do the light colors on the battery mean?
    • Solid Blue = Powered on and ready to use
    • Blue light will automatically turn off when it goes to sleep.
    • The battery has no on or off buttons. It is fully automatic.
    • Solid Red = Fully Charged
    • Blinking Red = Charging

Fan

  • Is fan adjustable? If so, how many settings?
    • The fan angle is adjustable up or down to direct air where you would like within the shield
    • The fan has three power settings

Fit & Compatibility

  • Does it fit over loupes? Any known incompatibilities?
    • Yes it fits over loupes! As long as your loupes are 5x or lower they should fit. Please reach out with measurements of your loupes to confirm.
  • One size or multiple sizes?
    • Our proprietary design fits greater than 99% of head sizes. It has a bungee if you need a tighter fit and easily expands to fit almost any head size. 

Cleaning

  • How should it be cleaned? 
    • Soap and water or glasses/lens wipe/spray with a microfiber towel are best for the shield. 
  • Are any cleaners or chemicals to avoid?
    • Anything that has dissolving properties like gasoline.

Parts & Lifespan

  • Are replacement parts (fan, shield face) available?
    • Yes. Everything except the shield is warrantied for 1 year. 
    • The shield should last at least a month at a time depending on use and care. It does not scratch easily but excessively abrasive fabrics may shorten the life of the shield.
  • Estimated product lifespan?
    • With proper care the frame and fan are expected to last for years.
