Breezy Face wasn't something I made over night. It all started in 2020 with COVID. Between my N95, my shield, and my anxiety I couldn't keep from fogging up. I always had problems with my loupes fogging up before COVID but this just made things exponentially worse.

When PPE was scarce, a dental lab 3D printed me a frame and cut a shield for us so we could have all the PPE we needed. When I started fogging more up I decided to add a USB CPU fan to my shield but I didn't have a way to mount it, so I cut a mount out of cardboard, screwed it together, and hung it from the shield frame with paper clips. It worked great!

Once shortages got better and I was able to get better shields, I made a better, cleaner version of my fan shield. I used that for the next four years. So many people in that time asked where I got it because they wanted one. When my answer was that I made it they often asked why wasn't I selling it. They wanted it for medical procedures, veterinary work, and landscapers wanted it for weed whacking.

I knew I had something people wanted but having two young children I had no time to build a company and sell a product.

Fast forward to May 2025. I was at the California Dental Convention and stopped by a booth to visit with my friend Thanh Luu at Light Solutions Company. I don't even know how it came up but we got to talking about my shield fan and he instantly got excited about the idea. He immediately asked if I would be interested in developing it and he would help me sell it. I was in! We then built a team of four to make it happen. My wife Kristina helps manage graphic design. Than’s wife Stacy is our finance manager and always keeps us grounded with making things look good.

After countless hours of learning designing software and 3D printing I was off on to prototypes. I tried different materials, different shapes, different everything. So many iterations. I tried one fan, I tried two fans, I tried porting the air thru the frame, I tried blowing it directly on my face and nothing really seemed right. Then I found a super powerful compact fan and put it on a hinge. I added diffuser to spread the airflow so it didn’t dry out my eyes. I bent the frames till they broke and then changed the design. I found that no pads on the market were comfortable enough for me so I invented my own system. Someone mentioned they wanted a filter to reduce aerosols in their environment. So I designed a removable filter so you could use it in a high aerosol environment or remove it for more air flow if you wanted.

Then finally after listening to all the suggestions and annoyances, we created the Breezy Face Shield. The most comfortable shield out there. It won’t give you headaches because it doesn’t put pressure on the side of your head. It will keep you cool so you don’t fog up during those hard procedures or hot days that the AC can’t keep up, and it’ll keep you cool for over 10 hours on high!

I hope it changes your life like it changed mine.
Stay Safe, Stay Cool with Breezy Face.
